		<description>ACHTUNG!
CRAFT AND PRINTMAKINGA collaboration with Sabine Leitner and Serena Sundai resulted in a series of hand screen-printed posters highlighting the potential financial cost as a consequence of the world's dwindling bee population. Serena is the designer behind the identities for Sam Rodick's (Coco de Mer) Bondage for Freedom and Bees in Bondage charities. The prints are available in four colour ways.

DESTROY ALL BUSINESS CARDS
CRAFT AND PRINTMAKINGAn early screen-printed business card inspired by the debut Durutti Column album which was designed to destroy the albums around it. <description>RAAK
BRAND DEVELOPMENT &#38; DIGITALRAAK is a communications agency specialising in social media. Much of their work involves collaboration with hand-picked specialists – their role is often akin to that of project manager or creative director. They have even been known use online talent pools(!) like Crowdspring to generate content if that is cost effective and relevant to the client.

Their brand identity reflects this, and is created with a random generation of the letters in their name from a database designed by site visitors. The challenge with this is creating a coherent and professional representation of the brand whilst allowing contributors to be creative. A set of perimeters were introduced to control colour, dimension etc

Following the identity I was commissioned to design a set of templates and stylesheets for the website.

		<description>UNIVERSITY OF THE ARTS LONDON
ASSOCIATE LECTURER / FdA GRAPHIC DESIGN
In tandem with my professional commitments, I form part of the tutorial staff on the Camberwell College of Arts Foundation Degree in Arts course. A crucial function of this type of qualification (and what sets it apart from the BA degree) is making the students 'industry ready' – so that they can walk into internships and employment after the course confident that they have the professional working method and technical skills to fit straight in. My role is to share the experiences that I encounter during the rest of the week as a professional practitioner with the students and act as a mentor during their final year of study ensuring they achieve their ambitions in starting out in a highly competitive industry or making the transition to completing the final year of the Camberwell Bachelor of Arts course.

The sessions are a mix of personal tutorial time and group practical workshops covering areas such as typography and print production.

More information about the course.

		<description>ZELT
LIMITED EDITION CD/USB PACKAGINGZELT is the latest of a number of musical collaborations with guitarist David Adams spanning many years. The music was composed by gradually layering and refining improvised parts across a range of instruments. It is a piece in four parts inspired by the tribulations of the early Everest pioneers. The packaging is presented in the form of a map, with the inner screenprinted in cyan and white onto newsprint in order to age rapidly giving the impression of of a found object which reveals it's secrets as the paper yellows.

The compressed audio is available for free download from ZELT.ORG.UK where the full quality audio files can also be purchased with the limited edition two colour hand screen-printed packaging.

		<description>LONDON BUSINESS DIRECTORY
COVER DESIGNRather than create a uninspired image comprising of silhouettes of London landmarks for this directory distributed to businesses across the capital, I though it would be more fun to reference the city's seamier side! Inspired by the gaudy neon of Walker Court in Soho I had fun imagining how some of the businesses in the directory would describe their services in this environment – thereby photographers became 'flashers' and contract cleaners became 'scrubbers'...
&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824250/LBD cover 2_2.png" border="0" width="670" height="580" width_o="2048" height_o="1774" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824250/LBD cover 2_2_o.png" align="left" /&#62;

An alternative (more conservative!) approach looked at how the iconic London Underground roundel could not just reflect the city but also the concept of business in the capital.

		<description>RENT YOUR ROCKS
STRATEGY, BRANDING &#38; PACKAGINGThis innovative online brand gave members the opportunity to hire top-end luxury jewellery for parties and special occasions at a fraction of the purchase price. The brand was a winner at the UK Jewellery Awards 2010.

Following a full brand positioning exercise, the platform of 'Your new best friend' was developed – referencing the fact that only your closest companion would lend you such a precious object. The identity created around this was designed to have an air of luxury whilst still feeling accessible.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824206/RYR Logo.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="448" width_o="2048" height_o="1369" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824206/RYR Logo_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;

A full set of packaging materials followed. The brief? To ensure customers were 'wowed' when they opened the securely sent package.

		<description>VARIOUS LOGOS AND MARKS
BRANDINGMuch of my work has been in the creation of brand identities. Here's a selection of logo's and marks executed over the last few years across a whole variety of industry sectors.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824178/jj-logo.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="448" width_o="670" height_o="448" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824178/jj-logo_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62; &#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824178/four27-logo.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="448" width_o="670" height_o="448" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824178/four27-logo_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62; &#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824178/panthea-logo.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="448" width_o="670" height_o="448" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824178/panthea-logo_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62; &#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824178/silver-logo.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="448" width_o="670" height_o="448" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824178/silver-logo_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62; &#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824178/m-alt-logo1.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="448" width_o="670" height_o="448" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824178/m-alt-logo1_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62; &#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824178/maxbro-logo.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="448" width_o="670" height_o="448" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824178/maxbro-logo_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62; &#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824178/artevista-logo.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="448" width_o="670" height_o="448" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824178/artevista-logo_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62; &#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824178/fcl-logo.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="448" width_o="670" height_o="448" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824178/fcl-logo_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62; &#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824178/pixel-logo.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="448" width_o="670" height_o="448" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824178/pixel-logo_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62; &#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824178/rabda-logo.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="448" width_o="670" height_o="448" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824178/rabda-logo_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62; &#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824178/seniorcare-logo.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="448" width_o="670" height_o="448" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824178/seniorcare-logo_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62; &#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824178/dtf1-logo_7.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="448" width_o="670" height_o="448" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824178/dtf1-logo_7_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62; &#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824178/xendo-logo.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="448" width_o="670" height_o="448" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1824178/xendo-logo_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62; </description>

		<description>HEXSTATIC / PICK AND MIX
SANCTUARY RECORDSVJ duo Hexstatic were given free reign over the Sanctuary back catalogue in order to produce their ultimate mix tape. They wanted to reference their childhood confectionary memories in conjunction with the name of the mix. A DJ setup created only using sweets seemed the best way of bringing these two worlds together.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1765886/hexstatic.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="448" width_o="2048" height_o="1369" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1765886/hexstatic_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62; &#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1765886/Hextatic alt.png" border="0" width="670" height="448" width_o="1600" height_o="1070" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1765886/Hextatic alt_o.png" align="left" /&#62; &#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1765886/Hextatic production 3.png" border="0" width="670" height="448" width_o="1600" height_o="1070" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1765886/Hextatic production 3_o.png" align="left" /&#62;

THE KINKS / I AM IN PARADISE
SANCTUARY RECORDSRay and Dave Davis talked to each other long enough to compile an ultimate Kinks collection, a first, due to the complexity of licensing tracks from their stints with various labels. Of the various concepts submitted the selected route used a range of images from the Hulton Archive following the brief from Konk studios to create a nostalgic feel of post-war British childhood which would fit the themes of the music well. Prototypes were created but, alas, the project was shelved – no doubt due to a 'breakdown in communication'.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1765886/kinks finalb.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="448" width_o="2048" height_o="1369" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1765886/kinks finalb_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62; &#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1765886/kinks final f-b.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="448" width_o="2048" height_o="1369" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1765886/kinks final f-b_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62; &#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1765886/kinks altb.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="448" width_o="2048" height_o="1369" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1765886/kinks altb_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;

TROJAN RECORDS SLEEVES
SANCTUARY / UNIVERSAL MUSIC A long and enjoyable relationship with Trojan Records gifted me the opportunity to produce 20+ sleeves for the label following a brand overhaul by Mystery who implemented an eclectic cut and paste style which gave an element of consistency and allowed sleeves to be produced with what were often quite poor images of reggae artists who may have only been photographed once!

		<description>FUTURA
BRANDING &#38; COPYWRITING An all-encompassing project ranging from concept development, naming and strategy through to interior design and print work. The concept took a dilapidated Italian restaurant with four oddly-shaped rooms and created a 'destination' cocktail lounge and casual dining room for hip locals in an area devoid of interesting places to socialise. the concept was inspired by the over-bearing visual and verbal language used by modernist manifestos of the early 20th century and applied the same stylings (with tongue placed firmly in cheek) to the 'Hedonists Manifesto'.

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1765175/FUTURA-logo-b.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="469" width_o="2048" height_o="1433" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1765175/FUTURA-logo-b_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62; &#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1765175/FUTURA-MANIFESTO-1b.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="469" width_o="2048" height_o="1433" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1765175/FUTURA-MANIFESTO-1b_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62; &#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1765175/FUTURA-MANIFESTO-2b.jpg" border="0" width="670" height="469" width_o="2048" height_o="1433" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/4/129479/1765175/FUTURA-MANIFESTO-2b_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;

PRINTThe project was completed within a very tight budget. The menu covers were simply foiled and the other print elements were printed in one colour silver on black board. The menu cover references the art deco mirrored panels on the side of the bar counter.

INTERIOR GRAPHICSA series of graphic images were created to feature throughout the bar which all referenced the 'Hedonists Manifesto' The manifesto itself was not to be on view opting instead to reveal small details to build a sense of mystery and discovery.

INTERIOR DESIGNWith tight budget constraints yet creative freedom came the opportunity to be involved in every detail of the project. This included drawing details of the bar and sourcing all the furniture and fittings. Many of the graphics were signwritten directly on to the wall, with one of the back rooms featuring part of the manifesto looking like it had been revealed by scratching off layers of plaster. The letters of FUTURA were also hidden throughout the bar both in the fabric of the building and features such as the 'typographic fire'.
